I have been studying Breathwork since 2007, whilst also working as a Youth Worker, Disability Support Worker and now as a Social Worker. I have worked with youths in independent living, emergency care and alternative schooling. I have worked in disability support and have a sound understanding of how to work with people with autism and acquired brain injuries. As a Social Worker, I have worked at the Coroner’s Court of South Australia, supporting bereaved families through the coronial process. Whilst working for the Coroner, I was shocked at the high rate of suicides happening in our state. I became passionate about suicide prevention, and I am now working in Anglicare SA’s Suicide Prevention Service.
As well as my academic and work experience, I also have lived experience with drug addiction, depression and suicide ideation. Prior to 2007, my life was a mess. Breathwork helped me to overcome barriers to living a life of joy.
Though my journey since 2007 has taken me to varying jobs and experiences, I keep coming back to Breathwork as a powerful tool for clarity, change and awareness. During this time, I have found a career path that I love, I have a supportive community of friends and family, I have found my perfect partner and we now have a beautiful daughter together. I can say, without a doubt, that I would not have been able to achieve such positive change in my life without the assistance of Breathwork.
If there are parts of my story that you can identify with, I encourage you to give Breathwork a go. The journey of change may not always be easy or comfortable, but it is totally worth it. I have been to the depths of despair that depression can take you to, and I have come out the other side. I know the way out, so let me help you to find your path to a life of joy and love.
